Northern Ireland Hospice is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Sheppard as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees.

Ian brings extensive leadership and financial expertise to the role. A Chartered Accountant and former Managing Director for Northern Ireland at Bank of Ireland, Ian is one of the region’s most experienced corporate bankers. Over the course of his career, he has worked with many of Northern Ireland’s leading companies and also served as Chair of the Institute of Directors in Northern Ireland.

Ian is already well known to the Hospice team, having served on the Board of Trustees for the past three years, including in his most recent role as Vice Chair. His personal experience of the care and support provided by Northern Ireland Hospice has given him a deep appreciation for the organisation’s work and a strong commitment to its values.

Northern Ireland Hospice would also like to express its sincere thanks to Dr Gerry Millar MBE, who has completed his term as Chair. Gerry has been a dedicated ambassador for Hospice, bringing clinical insight, compassion and a strong focus on patient-centred care during his time in the role.

We are grateful for his outstanding contribution and wish him well as he continues to support Northern Ireland Hospice in new ways.
