Ballywalter Primary School Raises an Incredible £20,146.75 for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice
We are absolutely delighted to share the outstanding fundraising total of £20,146.75 raised by the incredible community of Ballywalter Primary School in support of the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
This wonderful initiative began in September with an idea from Briar Kennedy, supported by her brother and lyricist Blair, fellow choir teacher Katherine, and the wider Ballywalter P.S. team. Their shared vision: to create and release an original song and video to raise awareness and support for the Hospice’s vital work.
What followed was truly inspiring — a viral video, an uplifting concert, and the first ever official song for the NI Children’s Hospice. Their efforts not only raised much-needed funds but also brought together a whole community with compassion, creativity, and care.
The Children’s Hospice relies on the heart and generosity of people across Northern Ireland. Ballywalter P.S. has embodied that spirit in every way, and we are deeply grateful for their passion and dedication.
Three cheers for Ballywalter P.S.!

Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice recently had some special visitors when we welcomed pupils and teachers from Ballywalter Primary School to Horizon House.
The school’s talented choir recorded a video performance of their original song, Shining Little Stars, which was specially composed to support our 2024 Little Stars appeal in aid of Children’s Hospice.
The choir was joined by members of the Children’s Hospice care team and staff, who had been diligently rehearsing their harmonies in preparation for the performance.
Written by teacher Briar Kennedy and her lyricist brother Blair Bailey, this heartfelt song has now been professionally produced by a music producer and is available for download via Bandcamp. When purchasing Shining Little Stars, you will also have the option to donate more - every extra contribution helps us continue providing vital care and support to children and their families.
